Audio / Lighting Simulator
Browser-based coverage simulator for audio and lighting design. Zero-server, zero-build, runs on any laptop or iPad on tradeshow wifi.
Upload a floor plan → calibrate scale → draw room zones → place fixtures and speakers (drag presets or upload IES and GLL files) → switch between light and sound coverage layers → export a hierarchical BOM or a 3D GLTF for trades.
Features
- Floor plan + scale tool — one Import button takes a PDF or an image: page thumbnails, automatic scale detection (
1/4" = 1'-0",1:48and related forms), or click two points and enter a real dimension - Zone polygon drawing — rooms as click-and-close boundaries, with per-zone ceiling height
- Fixture and speaker placement — 19 Ketra presets across the Nura, Lumaris, N-Rail and wall-wash lines, or upload IES and GLL photometric files
- AFF/AAS mounting — per-entity Above Finished Floor or Above Adjacent Surface
- Coverage layers — Light / Sound / Both heatmaps with resolution and sensitivity sliders, clipped to the zone boundary
- EASE-referenced audio model — pink-noise 1/3-octave source, on-axis directivity with off-axis loss, air absorption, a Sabine reverberant field and power summation across speakers; Source SPL, RT60 and a Direct/Total field selector; SPL readout at the cursor and a test tone
- Hierarchical BOM — per-zone grouped bill of materials, CSV export, carrying manufacturer, beam angle, lumens and wattage from the fixture library
- 3D export — GLTF extrusion with zone volumes and entities at their mounting heights
- Save and load — projects in browser local storage
Tech
Pure ES modules. Three.js and pdf.js from CDN. 144 unit tests covering calibration math, point-in-polygon hit testing, AFF/AAS resolution, entity lifecycle, the acoustic and photometric models, BOM generation and state serialization.
